Feeling Successful
It’s weird how we measure success and achievements. Today I’m feeling like a successful mummy.
Two months ago, we lived in a home unit/villa. We were lucky to have a large courtyard and a small grassed area (in fact our outdoor area was a reasonable size). Boo loves being outdoors and as you’ve seen she loves to garden. Our old home, meant her and the dog were vying for outdoor space, there was room for her cubby house and her baby swing, she had no room to ride her bikes, and there definitely was no room for a swing set and trampoline, let alone both. This prompted the sell up and move to somewhere we could have at least a swing set or a trampoline, and have enough room for Boo and the dog to run around.
My main focus on searching for a new home was a decent sized outdoor area, without compromising on location (ie close to work, city and beach) – and hope we found somewhere with a decent house! Today I feel this goal has been achieved – I look out my kitchen window and feel successful! My lawn is taken up by a swing set and trampoline (with enough running room left), their are toys littering the outdoors, and a cubby house with kitchen hiding around the corner (there was a dramatic over the roof journey to get it there)!
Boo was lucky that friends of friends with teenage children were about to sell their trampoline and swings but heard Boo had a new yard and could use them, so they were kindly donated to the ‘poor child of a single mum’!!!
The static in those trampolines!!!!
Boo has had a great time jumping and swinging today, though of course sustained an injury. Grandma taught her how to hang upside down on the roman rings but didn’t show her how to get down. Of course she face planted into the grass and chomped her lip!!!

Well done, me&Boo!!! it is so nice to have friends like that – and space to put it!!!
Now, as I AM the trampoline police, I am sure I don’t have to do my whole “one child on a trampoline” spiel to you, do I?
J – I have duly noted your trampoline spiel in the past, and have laid down the rules to Boo
Ooohhh that static hair do is fabulous!
Being able to enjoy the outdoors and having room to run, be outrageous, make lots of mess and play is a wonderful gift to give to Boo!
I’m sure you’ll both enjoy your new found backyard bliss
