Love…
How is it, that when you think you love your child as much as you possibly can, your heart almost explodes out of your chest with even more love?
This is how I’ve felt with Boo the past few weeks. The love I feel for that child, sometimes engulfs me and suffocates me… not that I’m complaining. It just astounds me that I can possibly love her anymore than I already do.
Today, I see my baby has long gone. Replaced by a super-confident, super-independent little girl who is extremely kind and thoughtful, well mannered and an absolute pleasure to spend time with (mostly).
She has grown too… 3 inches in 2 months and skipped a shoe size. The baby size and looks are rapidly departing as we speed toward being 4 years old.
Don’t get me wrong, she is like any pre-schooler and has her ‘special’ moments, and in fact she has probably been naughtier this past week than she has been in her life. Then the moments pass, I look at her and my heart wells with love, and I just want to bundle her up and cuddle her.
My little girl gives the best cuddles in the world.
I love the way she climbs into my bed in the night and strokes my hair and whispers “Excuse me, I love you, sweetie,” and plants a damp kiss on my cheek before promptly being fast asleep.
I’d like to bottle her now, and keep her like this forever and ever…

that picture, she is just perfect eh?
Hear hear, I know exactly what you mean.
I know exactly what you mean too …too precious for words.
Boo is as gorgeous as her mum.
I know exactly what you mean too …too precious for words.
Boo is as gorgeous as her mum.
Thanks for expressing how I feel!!!
I don't think anything can compare to a mother's love for her child.
It's astounding how much the love keeps growing, isn't it?
Gorgeous pic of the gorgeous girl. And I can vouch that she gives awesome cuddles. xoxo
Like Trish, I know exactly what you mean. You don't think you can possibly love them any more then 'BOOM', you do.
What a very sweet post!
She is gorgeous.
I sooo know what you mean about bottling time.
Awwwwwww.
Well, she *is* pretty darn gorgeous, so you have every right to be as proud as anything!
She really is gorgeous… and I know exactly that feeling about simply bursting with love for our babies.
And, btw, every moment is a "bottling" moment. Although I do miss soft cheeks and sweet midnight cuddles.
xoxox
Xbox – She is
Al – God I love her
Jen –
Trish – Boo is actually way more gorgeous than her mum
Dina – You're welcome
Sunny – Truly astounds me…
Melody – 'BOOM' is a good word to describe it
Iris – Thanks
Amanda – Now if only I could find a big enough bottle…
M – Twas an Awww moment that inspired the post
Rhu – So proud, I leave the bragging and boasting for my blog so as not to inundate every conversation with Boo!
Fe – Sometimes I wonder how they can get any more loveable???
Indeed very much "awwwwww".
I can tell you that you still get them 5 years later.
I am looking forward to finding them 40 years later, too.
In fact, I occasionally try to get my own mum to Boom!
Oh I hear you… every night when I check on my slumbering offspring, I just cannot help but softly kiss their cheeks and wonder how on earth I had the good fortune to be their Mum. Just about cripples me sometimes, that wave of love.
{hugs}
