Getaway
Miss Boo and I have returned from a wonderful 3 days on Rottnest.
There was no TV. There was no computer. There was, however, lots of fun – relieving the mummy guilt from when I went to Sydney last week without her!
There was a first boat trip (excuse photo quality – boats and I don’t mix well)!
We had a bungalow for shelter…
See that bike? Well I haven’t ridden a bike in many, many, many years and don’t my legs know it!!!
Last week, Miss Boo was convinced that quokka’s were birds even after Googling!!!
In the dark, before bed, we went on quokka hunts. There are so many quokka’s you almost fall over them in the dark. Being spring time, many had joeys with them or poking out of their pouches. Of course both nights I went on the hunt without a camera!
I think Boo’s favourite thing to do everyday was exploring the rock pools, beachcombing, popping blue-bottles washed up on the shore, and drawing in the sand.

OMG look how grown up she is!!! That is incredible, Lani!!! And of course, she is absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful pics, too – even the boat one.
Looks like a fabulous retreat. I LOVE the no telly and no computer element
I loved Rottnest when we visited but unfortunately it was only for the day. I would have loved to stay there. My bum was sore from riding the bike for the day though.
Loooove the pic with the lighthouse and Boo sitting on the beach, how arty!
Sounds like you had a fab time
Oh, I miss the sea!
It looks like you had such a lovely time, I have not been to Rottnest for the longest time and I used to love holidays on the island when I was a child. Will have to look at taking Immy over one day soon.
Christie
What a wonderful trip, it looks like you girls had a great time!
Looks like you had a fab time.
…and these photos are G-orgeous.
Looks like you guys had a fabulous time… I’m so envious!
Al – Yes, growing up way too quickly
The trip over was so rough, and the bouts of nausea even worse!
Jen – Legs are feeling much better today
Iris – Thanks, we had a wonderful time
Christie – Not sure Rottnest would fit in with Frugal Friday!!! You would have a wonderful time with Immy though
Sarah – It was great especially after leaving her behind last week when I was in Sydney
Amanda – Cheers
Kate – Is that ‘singleton’ envy?
My goodness. She is growing so fast. It looks as though you had a good time – time alone without distraction, with your favorite little person in the whole world is time well spent, indeed.
I have always wanted to got to Rottnest Island and your pictures just cemented it for me. That beach looks lovely.
I hope you had a great time.
Beautiful pics!! I WILL get to Rottnest Island one day!
Boo is just getting more and more beautiful as she grows. xoxoxo
