To be honest, there are days when both Boo and I spend all day in our pyjamas. Yesterday Boo was in pyjamas to conserve clean clothes (though she spent most of the day outdoors so the pyjamas are now black)!

I on the other hand was up and dressed by 6.30am, on my last day of holidays, awaiting the 7am arrival of the tradesmen who would transform the walls of my laundry and study (or the sunroom as we affectionately call it).

By 8.15am the tradesmen had not arrived. I phoned the boss. No answer. No voicemail.

At 8.30am, I got hold of the boss. He thought they were here at 7am, and promised to call back in 5 mins.

At 9.30am, the boss had not rung back, so I called again. His comment “I have not been able to contact them. They were supposed to be at your place by 7am. I guess they won’t get it done today. I’ll get back to you.”

I did not hear back from him at all today. I arranged another quote yesterday afternoon.

In the meantime, this is my laundry.

For how long? Your guess is as good as mine!

The plumber was here last Friday. So I have been without a washing machine or sink since then. I did a load of laundry at my mum’s last weekend, but she came and took all the laundry yesterday for me. Not only will she wash it, it will come back folded and ironed ;)

I know how hard it is without a functioning laundry. We had ours done in January/February and it was a couple of weeks without washing machine/sink and its so frustrating. I hope you get some tradesmen sorted out soon. And thank goodness for Mums who come to the rescue.

  2. Ooh, it’s exciting! Can’t wait to see the finished product. :) Bummer about the tradies though – amazing how incredibly irresponsible they can be and still run a business!!! Hope you get that sorted out soon.

Though maybe its not so bad not having a laundry for a while if someone else is doing all your washing!

And where have you stored all the OMO???

Annoying, yes .. but when this happened to me, I discovered the local laundrette, and it’s an interesting place to be ( ok, and boring also :p ). They have a really cool smell.

    Tradies – ugh!!
Can’t wait to see the results !!
    :)

Looking forward to seeing the results…whenever that shall be!

Some tradies aren’t worth keeping. Find new ones.

BOO to dodgy tradesmen / YAY to Mum’s who ROCK!

…and you are about the 4th person I know functioning without a washing machine at the moment – 2 friends have had their washing machines “repaired” (both had brand new machines that the respective company’s refused to replace and the cost of repairs are *higher* than the cost of a new machine) … and my Mum’s faithful old maytag is currently getting some minor surgery courtesy of my hubby / aka Mr Fixit.

Mary Poppins can go weeks without using a washing machine. Apparently a table spoon of bicarb and a few drops of tea tree oil dissolved in a spray bottle of water is far more “environmentally friendly” than actually cleaning your clothes!
Glad to see you and Boo are doing your bit for the environment ;-)

Sunroom!!! What a great name for that! ;-)

Yeah, always the same “good” service, all over the world!!! Fingers crossed the job is done soon (on the other hand…)…

So – where is the sequel? And thank goodness for mothers like that!!!
