A Lost Afternoon

We had a plan.

I was taking Boo to the pool for some swimming practice. She’s super keen to be swimming as well as her bigger cousins by the time we go to Bali.

Boo has been swimming since she was born but she has just moved up to the next level… she’s on her first attempt at this level, the other 3 children are all on their 3rd attempt, and at least 18 months older than her.

Boo is nowhere near as competent as the other children. Lucky for her, there just happens to be a spare swim teacher during her session time who is working one-on-one with her So with the two of us working with her, she should catch up really quickly.

Unfortunately today our plans were foiled!!!

The freeway was closed somewhere around the city for a triathlon, and the road closures had not been publicised! So the 2 minute stretch of freeway I planned to use, took 25 mins to negotiate, we were only going one exit away, and once we were on there was no getting off!

Then we arrived at the pool only to be turned away. The pool was shut due to a power failure!

So Boo’s splashing about in the dog’s pool. Not quite the same…
