Why Pre-schoolers Should Not Eat Lamb
It’s been a busy week here in the Me & Boo household.
Plenty to blog really but no time to blog it.
Too much disarray and mess to feel like blogging!
Painting of the NEW walls in my laundry sun room/study was completed yesterday. This has taken up the majority of our time (leaving very little time for housework etc). There will be pictures soon, I promise.
So tonight we had a BBQ to avoid kitchen use, and there was sun and blue skies when I made the decision, but of course by the time it came to BBQ the wind and chill had picked up and the sky had become grey. Typical!
Miss Boo chowed through her sausage and bread roll and salad. During the process she chewed on a small piece of lamb chop before moving the rest around on her plate, and poking at it. The dinner conversation went like this -
Do you think the lamb was happy being killed? Do you think the lamb liked to be chopped up? Do you think the farmer liked killing the lamb?
The questions kept being repeated until finally she got up grabbed a handful of carrots and cucumber and wandered off.
When she got in the bath a short while later she commented – I don’t want to die, I don’t want you to die, I don’t want anyone we know to die… As it transpired she was still thinking about the lamb being killed.
Do you think I might have a converted vegetarian on my hands?
By bedtime, she was back to wondering (as she had been all afternoon) what her new friend, Poppy might be doing now? Crying, cuddling, sleeping, or breastfeeding?
Congratulations Nicole and family

Rofl at the lamb comments. We had the same discussion regarding chickens this week. Sigh.
Hmmm lamb – might have lamb for dinner?
Boo is asking the hard questions alright. We have pet chickens which causes a similar set of questiosn when we eat chicken ….. and we also have teh family farm and periodically talk about What Happens To The Yearlings. … you mightthink I’m leading to some sage words of wisdom with this – but I’m not – its a hard conversation.
Oh and *gorgeous* pic of Boo and Bubs
Jack often declares he’s going to go vegetarian….or be more vegetarian.
But then the next thing I know, he’s stuffing his face with a dead cow or chicken.
ah yes, we had a similar conversation about chicken last night, complete with tears….it’s hard to answer those questions hey
My sisterin law became a vegetarian very early on for the same reasons …that and her Dad killing their pets for the freezer…
The farm has a few lambs and calves so one day soon I am sure S & J will join the dots.
Ps Boo is looking so grown up , and gorgeous.
The baby is making my heart tug …aww so cute.
