One of the many November things we were counting sleeps until, was school orientation.

TODAY was school orientation day morning. Little Miss Boo was off exploring the class room by the time the orientation talk began, and as soon as the Prime Minister Principal said they could go out to the playground she was off like a rocket!

Boo’s school is single stream. In other words, there is one class of each year group, and this class will go all the way through primary school together as one class.

Sounds lovely, huh? However, there are only seven girls in the class (they make up less than a third). Today in the playground the pecking order was forming. There was hissing and snarling from two little girls.

I am embarrassed to say Miss Boo was one of these girls.

I can PROUDLY say that she is not the one that shoved, hit, or threw sand. She is the one that picked herself up out of the sand pit, turned around, commented to her opponent  ‘I am not very happy’ and went and introduced herself to someone else.

I received comments from several parents on how well she handled herself :)

Boo has your strength and tenacity(and a lot of her own sass) …no wonder she is such a gorgeous girl. They start school early in WA.
    Go Boo.

Clever thing to say and do by Boo! :-)

Ah the joys of orientation…. glad to hear your little Miss is more than capable of dealing with the intricacies of playground politics!! She needs to come give my girls some lessons!

We still have another year to wait.
I’m sure Noah would be in with Boo if he had half the chance.

I’m so proud of her too! That was a perfect response to a school-yard spat. What a little gem she is (and a chip off the Mummy block!!) xox
