And with that, I am back in the REAL world.

We (Me & Boo, Grandma, Papa, Brother and Sister-in-Law, niece (Bella) and nephew (CAM), Step Brother and Step-Sister-in-Law) are all back in Australia. We didn’t all stay together at the same hotel or even in the same parts of Bali, but we were all there at the same time…

Oh alright, Boo and I did stay at the same hotels as my parents which meant I wasn’t constantly on pool duty with water baby Boo!

We had a wonderful time supervising the overconfident Boo relaxing by the pool, supervising Boo and Bella in their quest to be the best pre-school swimmer reading books, and rushing Boo to a bathroom every time she ate eating lots of yummy foods.

Holiday posts and photos will follow but with an after midnight flight and a 4am arrival home I’m a bit groggy to struggle with camera cords and uploads!

I’m not sure why all Bali to Perth flights are at obscene hours in the night/morning? Every second person has small children in tow, hotel check-outs are lunch time unless you get a late check-out at 6pm.

Miss Boo was asleep at the airport at 10.30pm, we didn’t board until midnight, so there was I squished under the 17kg of dead weight 4 year old, which was only marginally better than lugging dead weight  4 year old and hand luggage to boarding gate!

Post holiday fall outs have included but are not limited to -

  1. Dead hermit crab
  2. 6 loads of washing
  3. Folding 6 loads of dry washing (not yet achieved – in fact I still need to retrieve half from the line)
  4. Grocery shopping (cupboards were bare)
  5. Need to drive across city to collect scruffy mutt
  6. Enduring hours of Barbie DVDs
  7. Fairy dresses, flower crowns, ballet tutus and sparkly shoes strewn all about house

Ahhh sounds like a relaxing holiday.
A friend of mine used to live in Perth and decided that the maps the airlines use used to have “There be dragons” marked for any Australian territory west of the WA border and that this was the reason you could only catch a flight to anywhere else after dark (ie so the dragons couldn’t see you).
