Home Lovin’ Thursday
I’ve decided to do a new weekly post to motivate myself into sorting my home. Not just cleaning my home but actually sorting, decluttering, organising etc etc.
For about 3 years I have had one single, solitary day child free and work free, once a fortnight. Before that there was none. It has mostly been spent doing housework, seeing the dentist, at the hairdressers or having those appointment where it’s easier not to have a toddler or a pre-schooler in tow. Occasionally, I’d do something for myself.
From next week, because today is a half day that is not a half day, at kindy, I will have child free and work free Thursdays this year.
I have big plans for my Thursdays which include but isn’t limited to -
- Having a clean house, and maintaining it
- Cleaning out the wardrobes, storage cupboards, pantry
- Sorting out 4 years of photos that are sitting in a box
- Ebay all the baby stuff (that has not yet been given away or ebayed) that is cluttering my wardrobe
- Paint Boo’s room with the paint that has been sitting in the shed for nearly 2 years
- Unpack the couple of boxes that are still unpacked from moving nearly 2 years ago
- Do things for ME
I think if I can get into some sort of routine with my domestic chores during the week, I think I will be able to use Thursdays productively for the bigger jobs that torment me, the things I don’t get done because my house is a mess, which I either clean or attempt to ignore.
With that, it’s almost pick-up time. I haven’t achieved any of my home lovin’ plans but I’ve written about them which has to be better than completely procrastinating about them???
Feel free to join in at anytime, and I’ll link you in
Oh we have a taker. Super Sarah has joined in and put me to shame as she actually did achieve some stuff today
ETA – I like the sound of Home Lovin’ Thursday over the original Home Loving Thursday. Thanks Tracey

I’ve had years of five days a week theoretically having school-time free, and I’ve not managed to do half of the sort of stuff on your list. I continue to find other things to do (but then Procrastination is my middle name.)
Maybe I should make Thursdays my internet free day, join you in dubbing it Home Lovin’ Thursday, and see what I can achieve.
Good luck! I wish I had your drive. You;ll do it too, not like me. I constantly make lists of my good intentions and then find those lists a year later and throw them in the bin.
I love, love, love this idea and have joined in! Check out my post about what I accomplished today and what I have on my list to do next week! I wonder how many of us have that box of photos hanging around?
I think the “Do things with me” should be at the top of the list:)
That´s a good idea! Good luck anyways
Sounds like a fantastic idea. Would love to join in, just need to set a reminder for Wednesday nights to remind me to get my act together!
give me a few days and I’ll join in .
I’d love a child free day to clean & de clutter …lucky you !
We have just packed a uteload = 14 or more boxes of stuff, plus baby items ….I have no idea where it came from. We still have another 10 boxes on the go and thats just the clutter & books.
Great idea! We all have a list like that that needs doing.
Once my renos are done, or at least, once I have cupboards to put things in, I’m in.
We’ll see if I can stick to something!!!???
Tracey – SNAP! Procrastination is my middle name too. I’m hoping Home Lovin’ Thursday posts will keep me accountable for my mission
Tiff – I don’t even bother with the list anymore. The tormenting jobs are etched in my brain, and a list would only grow!
Super Sarah – Thanks for joining in
And well done on making a start yesterday.
Julie-Ann – If I can get into a routine of Home Lovin’, me time will definitely move up the list
Iris – What? You’re not even tempted to join in… not even a little bit?
Christie – I will be sending you reminders every Wednesday
Trish – Next Thursday, I’ll be checking to see what you’ve achieved during the week
Sunnyroad – I’ll count you in after your reno’s are complete, until then you can be excused
