My New Toy
I picked up my new toy today.
I’ve been battling on eBay for awhile to get one at the price I was prepared to pay, and the quality I wanted without buying one brand new (in case I never use it, and then can sell it again on eBay)!
Of course, Boo thinks it’s her new toy.
She’s been on it all afternoon *sigh*
My exercise opportunities have been very limited since Boo started walking, and the thought of leaving her at day care longer, or taking her from day care or kindy and putting her in the gym’s creche doesn’t sit well with me. Mummy guilt at it’s best!
I often wish that we had a kindly old lady next door that would pop in for an hour when Boo’s asleep and I could go out for a run. So the next option was a piece of cardio equipment at home.
I’m very fond of steppers and elliptical trainers after my many years as a gym junkie. The elliptical cross trainer won of course as it is faster fat burning better all over body workout and fitness achievements.
If it cools down tonight, that’s where you’ll find me. I plan to do at least two sessions a week on the cross trainer, and I have started roller-blading again on Thursdays when Boo’s at school. Should be feeling myself again in no time???

At the gym this toy (two of them) is quite popular , good on you !
. Multitasker I am.
I confess I go to gym to use the treadmill in peace & read at 6.5-7 km per hr (my only time to read too lol).
I’ve been using my elliptical exercise bike at night mostly while TV watching …I can just manage a tweet or two too
Good luck with it! My husband just threw out the air walker machine that I bought about 12 years ago (when eldest was 4!). It only ended up being used to drape clothes over… then again, I was never a gym junkie, so that’s probably why it was doomed in my house.
(I wrote about it once.
ps where can you go rollerblading and not be humiliated ?
I would actually like ice skating better if I wasn’t so old they would laugh at me.
Good on you. I have a treadmill so that I can work on the forum and tweet whist I exercise- pathetic I know. By the way it has cooled down now, so I hope you are on your new toy already:)
Great stuff! I only have a stupid “stepper” that burns no calories at all… well, nearly. Well, not as much as your toy! have fun!
I work out at home too. I love it. I think I’d be too lazy to get in the car, and go to the gym. And the childcare thing is definitely an issue. Plus, I’m sure it saves money.
