Today I read a blog post (you know who you are) and  it reminded me of why I started blogging.

I began blogging to have a journal and memories of things in Boo’s life, and my life. Along the blogging journey, I’ve started to not post about things you might think are mundane. I’ve started to self-censor what I post.

So from today, I’m going to try and remember that this blog is for Me and Boo at the end of the day, though I love having you all along for the ride. But some days there might be a random post that you wonder where it came from, other times you’ll wonder if I’ve got nothing better to blog about then the marvel that is my daughter (the answer is no, nothing better to blog).

So with that out the way…

Boo went to her first ANZAC service today. We talked about ANZAC day last year, though she’d forgotten most of it. Yesterday, I explained again. Boo was adamant on attending a dawn service at Kings Park with 45 000 people. My thoughts were on attending a smaller, local service where she could see what was happening which is what we did.

An elderly lady asked Boo if she would take and place her flowers on the Memorial for her. Boo was well chuffed, and carried out the task with an air of pride and importance (unfortunately it all happened so quick, there are no photos).

Had I known my grandad was marching in his local area this morning and not in the big city march (as I’d assumed), we would have gone to that service.

Next year, Boo is dead keen on marching alongside GranDoug (as we call him) on ANZAC Day.
