After we got tired (hot and sweaty) of butterflies, and before we got drenched in a tropical thunderstorm we managed the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park.

On going through the gate, and before camera’s were at the ready, one of the blue guys perched on Boo’s head.

Because I missed the free photo opportunity, I had to pay a small sum to get this photo P5063789

Though if I’d given Boo the bird seed, it would have been a free photo opportunity, and a non-headless photo. Oh and if you had my head in the photo you would have seen a bird perched on my head and several on my shoulders! However, she might have been the one bitten instead of me :(

Have you ever seen anything as weird as this hornbill?

Hornbill

My favourite… the pink flamingo. One thing I miss about living in the UAE, is the waterhole in Dubai that is home to hundreds of pink flamingoes.

Miss Boo on the other hand, is much fonder of the small, fuzzy, flightless types.

Lovely photos! We took your advice and went to the Caversham Wildlife park and the girls loved it. Dad was happy too as there was a motor museum just outside in Whiteman Park and a great playarea. Stella loved the parrots but wasn’t bothered by the other animals, she hated the kangaroos but thats understandable as they were right at her face level in the pram when we were feeding them. Amy had a blast and it was great fun doing it with my Mum and Dad because kangaroos are still a novelty to them! So sorry we didn’t get to see you, bad timing. Next time! We will be back for sure, loved the Perth!
