I know I enjoyed kindy (except for those little warm bottles of milk)! I’m just not entirely sure my kindy was as much fun as Boo’s kindy?

Term 1 was all about the 5 senses culminating in an incursion from Sci-Tech to tie it altogether.

Term 2 was all about the sea. Things that live in the sea, things found on the beach. An excursion to AQWA (aquarium) and a pirate party were highlights.

Term 3 is set to be even more FUN! The theme is Food and will be known as ‘Kindy Masterchef,’ with weekly ‘Master Classes.’ Now those of you that follow me on Twitter will be aware that Boo is a big fan of Masterchef (she didn’t quite manage staying awake for all of last night’s finale).

Yesterday, talking to an elderly man on the train who asked what she wants to do when she grows up, her reply was to be on Masterchef! In Matt Preston style, she critiques every meal I put in front of her. Apparently on Friday night, the sausages were a touch overcooked, the onion gravy was not well seasoned, the mash was perfect and the other vegetables, passable!

And if that’s not enough there is an incursion from Bunnings where the children will be making their own serving trays. One of Boo’s (and my) favourite places is Bunnings, so for her this is very exciting.

Oh and they have a band coming out to play for the school in a couple of weeks, too!

It seems only fitting to put Boo’s first funny faced school photo here.

Kindy2010 copy On checking out all the individual photos, I think ours is one of the better ones!

We didn´t have themes back then! It was really boring.
I especially hated when I had to stay till afternoon and was forced to lie down to “sleep” with all the other kids in that dark room.
    I hated kindy, like really….
Seems – luckily! – times have changed, good for Boo! :-)

Our class has been masterchef mad, as well. My highlite before breaking my hand, was being served green dough paella with sand ‘jus’ in a separate jug, and being asked if I would like cracked black pepper (pebbles from the fish tank!)
