Yesterday, Boo and I attended the opening of the new Toys ‘R’ Us / Babies ‘R’ Us store down the street.

Boo was very excited and about the first person through the door! We had a lovely browse, adding things to the wish list for a birthday and Christmas.

And I have to mention, how lovely and friendly all the staff were. You don’t get that often these days!

There were characters, a bear, a giraffe, Homer & Bart, Elmo. I discovered Boo is still very scared of grown-ups in costumes. She has a phobia of Santa, clowns, characters, anyone with a mask. My confident child turns to a clingy, shy, shaky mess!

So when it was suggested she have photos with Bruin Bear, she wasn’t doing it without me.

I found your entry interesting do I’ve added a Trackback to it on my weblog :)

I have about two Photos With Santa from three children – and none of them include Ms Youngest who is now nearly 12. Isn’t it funny how they can be so confident otherwise yet freak out about stuff like that? – mind you, there’s probably a good deal of logic to their reasoning.

Hello you , you both look gorgeous. Glad you are keeping well.
I love the excitedness of children ‘window’ shopping for Christmas & birthday wishlists
…though I can’t imagine what I will buy my boys for Christmas.
We have way too many toys… I know it seems worse because they are twins and we need 2 of a lot of identical things.
I am thinking mechano but I hate the thought of having to pick up 100 pieces X 2 .

Great pic, very cute, the two of you!! Understandable, huge bears are frightening! And Santa… who isn´t afraid as a kid, huh? ;-)
Forwarded/gave you awards btw (came in a package to me).. :-)

Tracey – I have a Santa photo from when Boo was about 4 weeks old… the next 3 years resulted in a cold, clammy, trembling child with erratic breathing everytime we went shopping… at least last Christmas seeing Santa in a distance wasn’t so traumatic. The clown at daycare is a whole other story!

Trish – Now that I have already given the planned birthday present (bike), there is nothing else she really wants except a DSi :(

    Amanda – Thank you xxx

Iris – Thanks for the awards and tag. I will get to them soon
