Instead of wallowing at not having a Valentine, I’m being my own Valentine this year!
Honestly, I wouldn’t be wallowing anyway. I’m actually quite content without a Valentine. There are times a friend with benefits would come in handy… But that’s a whole ‘nother story!

Honestly, I wouldn’t be wallowing anyway. I’m actually quite content without a Valentine. There are times a friend with benefits would come in handy… But that’s a whole ‘nother story!
There are lots of things, I don’t like about myself and they would be easy to rocket off, but today I’m focussing on what I love about me.
I love my independent nature. It means I rarely need to be reliant or dependent on anyone else.
I love that I’ll give anything a go at least once.
I love that I’ve got a tradie gene. I can do all the DIY stuff and even build IKEA flat packs in no time.
I love that my friends see me as loyal and there for them (and my enemies know who they are).
I love that I follow my convictions.
I love that I fully breastfed Boo for 2.5 years despite returning to work.
I love that I turn into a snarling mother lion if you mess with my kid.
I love that I’m role modeling these traits for Boo, in the hope she grows up independent and confident and can do an IKEA flat pack on her own
I love that I’ve been blessed with a gorgeous, clever, independent and confident child, and best of all I love that I can take nearly every bit of credit for that!
I’m linking in with the gorgeous, witty, and awesome Glowless for some Valentine’s loving

Boo is shocking when it comes to school lunch. She’s never been a big sandwich eater, so when she started at school a couple of years ago, I admit I struggled with what to send for lunch.
Okay! I admit I still struggle to send something that will come home again untouched ![]()
In the final term of last year, Boo’s class graduated to the BIG playground. The one where everyone but the little kids get to go. This also meant that there was no pre-primary teacher to ensure they sat down and ate lunch before playing. Which meant Boo didn’t eat, leading to a very grumpy Boo!
This is where my lunch box secrets snuck in!
Using bread such as Bakers Delight High Fibre, Low GI, or Chia (because it won’t work with a grainy bread), and still using Boo’s favourite sandwich fillers vegemite or cheese/lettuce, I made bite size sandwich shapes.
And guess what? Someone ate her lunch ![]()
Bakers Delight are giving 20 people the chance to win a years supply of free bread. All you have to do is share your lunch ideas on their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/bakersdelight?sk=app_338104436220104
Competition is open now and ends 27 February 2012.
Giveaway
To get you started on creating your lunch box, I have two $10 Bakers Delight Vouchers to Giveaway. All you need to do is leave a comment telling me your best lunch box secret, or about your favourite packed lunch.

My bestie who fractured her spine before Christmas stood up. Obviously this was with help. She was told that if she could/did stand again it would be at least 6 months. Well Jodie is magic (in Boo’s words) because yesterday she stood 5 weeks and 3 days after the accident

Another bestie, who is a breast cancer survivor. She was given a 20% chance of being alive a year after she was diagnosed. Two and a bit years on, she’s just given birth to her first child, Charlie.

Moral of the story… Never lose hope, and believe in the impossible!

Boo and I attended Carols by Candlelight in the city last night. Yes, the Carols we attempted to go to last week!
We got great FREE street parking because everyone else was too busy waiting to turn into the paid parking lot they paid no attention to that one lonely spot left on the street
Then we headed into the Supreme Court Gardens, and parked our picnic were we could view the stage and the big screen ready for the pre-entertainment, and without encroaching on anyone else’s personal space!
I was so peeved by the people that then rocked up just before or when the carols started and tried to squeeze their families of 6 or more into a space that might accommodate one person sitting comfortably! They just kept coming and forcing themselves in…
If you’re not there to get a decent position be courteous and find a spot where you, your children and the grandparents will be comfortable and you’re not making other people uncomfortable and grumpy!
Too right! I was suffering PMT, they’re lucky I didn’t start a riot.
I must mention here, no families of 6 or more encroached on my space. However, a family of 2 (father and son – had to be a male) encroached on my space.
No, I am not happy for you and your toddler to squeeze yourself into that spot and sit on the corner of my picnic rug. You are within 10cm of my being, and even when I’m not irritable with PMT, and even if I knew you, you are invading too far into my personal comfort zone…
Not only did the space invader invade my space, he sang loudly and BADLY and passed foul smelling wind throughout the evening!!!
